Privacy Policy

1. Summary

Halal Stock Picks is a publication-style website. We do not require account registration to view content, and we collect the minimum data needed to operate the site. We do not sell personal data to third parties, and we do not run third-party advertising trackers.

2. What we collect

Server logs. Our hosting provider records standard request metadata (IP address, user-agent, request URL, timestamp) for security, abuse-prevention, and performance monitoring. Logs are typically retained for 30 days.

Cookies. We use only the cookies described in Section 3. We do not currently run analytics or advertising trackers.

User-submitted content. If and when we add accounts, watchlists, or other interactive features, we will collect only what is required to make those features work (e.g. an email address for sign-in, a list of tickers you save). We will update this policy before launching any such feature.

3. Cookies we use

  • admin-session — strictly necessary, set only after a successful admin login. HTTP-only, same-site=Lax, 14-day lifetime. Holds an opaque session value.
  • consent-accepted — strictly necessary, stored in localStorage. Remembers that you dismissed the consent banner so we don’t show it again. No personal data; no server transmission.

Both cookies are “strictly necessary” under GDPR Article 5(3) / ePrivacy Directive and do not require opt-in consent. They cannot be disabled without breaking the corresponding feature.

4. Third parties

We use the following third-party services. None of them receive your personal data unless you actively interact with them:

  • Yahoo Finance — server-side fetches for stock prices and fundamentals. Yahoo does not see individual visitor traffic; it sees our server.
  • Supabase(if configured by the operator) — database for screening history, signals, and (in future) accounts. Subject to Supabase’s privacy policy.
  • Vercel / hosting provider — site delivery and edge caching.
  • Affiliate broker links— when you click a partner link, the destination broker may set its own cookies. We have no control over those cookies and you should read each broker’s own privacy policy.

5. Your rights (GDPR / UK GDPR)

If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, the GDPR / UK GDPR grants you the following rights with respect to personal data we hold about you: access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, and objection to processing. To exercise any of these rights, email privacy@halalstockpicks.com. Because we collect very little personal data, most requests will be straightforward.

Legal basis. Where we process personal data about EU/UK visitors, our legal basis is the legitimate interest in operating and securing the Site (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR), except for cookies which are processed under your consent where consent is required.

6. California residents (CCPA / CPRA)

We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising as those terms are defined by the CCPA / CPRA. California residents can email privacy@halalstockpicks.com to request access to or deletion of any personal information we hold.

7. Children

This Site is not directed at children under 13 (or under 16 in the EEA/UK), and we do not knowingly collect data from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, email us and we will delete it.

8. Changes

We may update this policy. Changes are effective when posted. Material changes will be highlighted on the Site for at least 30 days.
